Grace Lam is one of Asia’s most prominent editors and stylists, with over 27 years of experience working in the publishing industry in Europe and Asia.
Born in Hong Kong, but as a global citizen, Grace has resided and worked in cities spanning from London, New York, Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai to Beijing, collaborating with esteemed figures in the fashion industry. She earned a First-Class degree honours in graphic design at the famed Central Saint Martin’s College Of Art & Design. Beginning her career at the iconic i-D magazine in London as an editorial assistant and then became a fashion assistant / PA to Edward Enninful OBE (Former Editor-In-Chief of British VOGUE). She worked with industry greats including Jude Law, Hugh Grant, F1 Champion Fernando Alonso, Terry Jones, Paolo Roversi, Craig McDean, Mario Testino, Mario Sorrenti, Annie Leibovitz, Steven Klein, Pat McGrath, Eugene Souleiman and supermodels including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, the late Stella Tennant, Gisele Bündchen, Natalia Vodianova & Linda Evangelista.
In 2005 she relocated to Shanghai, China where she became part of the original team to launch VOGUE China. For a decade, her previous role as the magazine’s Senior Fashion Style Editor saw her producing editorial content and events while working with both local and international celebrities including Maggie Cheung, Shu Qi, Fan Bing Bing, Chris Li Yu Chun, Hu Jun, Aaron Kwok, Daniel Wu, John Woo, Lana Del Rey & Alexa Chung. A passionate supporter of Chinese talent, she has also collaborated with the likes of Wing Shya and Kai Z Feng, along with Chinese supermodels like Du Juan, Fei Fei Sun, Ju Xiao Wen and Liu Wen.
Grace’s work has appeared in renowned publications including VOGUE Italia, VOGUE China, VOGUE Japan, VOGUE Australia, Harper’s Bazaar Australia, Architectural Digest, Tatler, i-D, Numero and Madame Figaro. Grace’s clients include Estee Lauder, Dyson, M.A.C Cosmetics, PWC, CitiBank Asia, Christian Dior, Burberry, Harvey Nichols, Lane Crawford, Lanvin, Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch, Adidas, Van Cleef & Arpels, Sotheby’s, Canon, DFS, Asahi, Porsche and Mandarin Hotel Group.
2018 Grace was appointed as a global ‘Estée Ambassador’ for the world’s most renowned beauty brand ‘Estée Lauder’. The first Chinese from Hong Kong ever chosen for a global campaign.
After living in Asia for 12 years, Grace relocated to Western Australia to start her new adventure with her husband (fashion / celebrity photographer and short documentary film maker) Jason Capobianco and their son. She is an advocate for sustainable living and dialogues around menopause. In 2024, Grace has been invited to speak at the Perth Senate Hearing on issues related to menopause. She has relaunched her personal styling service in Perth, catering to women from all stages of life. One of her key objectives is to elevate the style of midlife menopausal women by revamping their wardrobes and offering her fashion expertise to help reboost their confidence, which may have waned during the midlife transition of menopause. Grace is an avid fan of Formula One Racing (Go Lewis Hamilton!). She is a Board Member of Revelation Film Festival, adding a touch of fashion glamour to the movie scene in Perth.
